First splashes of the year!

After Clara's No-Nap, I decided we should hit up the Shadow Bend Splash Pad since it's only free and open to the public for another few weeks. Then we could only get in if we had a Woodlands Pool Pass, which we don't.

Clara was super excited to put on a "twim toot" heheehhe

"Look Mommy!!" pointing to the splash pad when she saw it
She never even paused. Off she went!

Checking out all the different features
Favorite part = the slide (for BOTH girls!)

Their other favorite part was this little circle of spouts
Clara did a lot of hopping in and out of the circle and Emma splashed and splashed
After about 25 or so minutes of playing, Emma crawled off the splash pad over to the diaper bag and dug around until she found some popcorn and her drink and helped herself. I was cracking up! What a Miss Independent she is!
Just getting a snack
Clara never even thought about pausing for a snack. She was way too busy having fun with the other kids there and splashing in the cold water.

Under the tree

While Emma dug she also found her hat and shoes. That hat she can do herself, but she REALLY wanted me to put her shoes on. No way chica. They would get soaking wet!

Making a little friend
Exploring
The clouds disappeared so I added her sunglasses to the mix

so much fun!

love the lighting
getting snug and dry
Once we got home, Bryan grilled dinner while the girls had a pre-dinner snack outside on the picnic table. Clara made sure Emma had plenty of goldfish.

After dinner the girls went for some rides around the porch :)

And they watched Mommy exercise Maverick with a lively game of chase and throw the ball :)

so cute
Then Clara joined in on the fun!
Finally, it was time to go inside.
Emma had a blast with her ball and walked around for almost 20 minutes growling with it.
Not the best video to demonstrate but still pretty funny:

Running out of steam
Clara didn't even make it until bedtime. Daddy took her up and sang her some songs and she passed out cold, didn't even notice when he left. Phew, it was a busy day!!

So much fun on a Saturday!

Princess Birthday Party for Ally, Katie, Avery, and Kinsley

We attended one of the most involved and elaborate birthday parties ever on Saturday. It was so pretty and so much fun for the kids. All 4 little ladies being celebrated are in Clara's class at school, and she is particularly good friends with two of them, but enjoys all four.

On Saturday we headed over to Rob Flemming Park with the two rugrats. (Emma was included in the invitation because the 4 girls see her every day when I pick up Clara and wanted her to come too. So sweet!)

So excited to see her friends!
whoa, Mama
It was gorgeous. What a beautiful place to hold a party, too.
Dancing with her amigas!

Clara and buddy visit with Emma
Dewicious!
Clara was super impressed by this particular table, haha
When the DJ got all the kids' attention and announced there was a special surprise he actually asked all 4 of the birthday girls to come up and meet their special special guests (Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Prince Charming). None of the 4 was quite ready to run up and say hi, but Clara spotted Minnie Mouse and DASHED across the pavilion to throw herself at her. Pretty soon all the other girls followed her lead. This chica is not shy and boy does she love Minnie Mouse! haha
"OH MY DOSH, IT MINNIE MOUSE!!!"
She went back to say hi multiple times after that.

Head Shoulders Knees and Toes:

Dancing with Prince Charming
Hanging with her sister and a girlfriend
Mama is a safe zone
Attempted Clara & Emma photo
LOL, good enough
Guess who the next special guest was!?!?! ELSA!!!!
(From Frozen for those of you without small children)

So many enthralled tiny princesses :) A little hero worship going on :)

Lots of videos.

My favorite video of the day:

Hi Emma :)
Dancing moves!!

Meeting Elsa!
Then Princess Sophia the 1st and Olaf arrived!!! (not going to lie, Sophie looks a little drunk to me, but costumes are hard. Sophie needed a little help navigating the pavilion, so Clara grabbed one of her hands).

Time to sing the birthday girls "Happy Birthday!"

She loves Olaf and Elsa
Even after she got her picture with them she hung right by Elsa's side, lol

They attempted limbo with small children, haha:

Mommy made Clara leave a little early because she was exhausted and starting to space out.

But of course Clara refused to take a nap, dang it. But after a mandatory hour rest time, we found something else to do to tire her out :) More on that in the next post!

Hair styles, ages and books

On Friday I don't have much for you. I had to get to work but Bryan didn't, so he was in charge of getting Clara ready and to school.

He sent me these pictures during 1st period of how he managed pigtails! Go Daddy!!

adorable :)
Please ignore the mess and focus on the adorable toddler:
Clara and her yellow boots, hehe
Then later I heard about this funny website that looks at a picture of you and guesses your age. At first it guessed I was 20 on one picture, so I took a different one and it was spot on! Bryan's is just a teensy over and Clara is over (4?!) and Emma is spot on. Poor Maverick doesn't have a face, hehe. (We were curious about what it would do for a dog.)
Kind of fun!
And just because Emma LOVES bath time with Clara:
Suds in her hairs
After bathtime, I took the opportunity of Clara's damp hair to attempt french braid pig tails. Clara was squirmy but willing. It didn't turn out too badly for a first go!

Clara and I read a bunch of books, and then she moved on over to read with Daddy.
Borrowing Emma's sunglasses
Love these two!!
Reading videos (both so sweet):

I'm not going to post about today (Saturday) just yet because it was so much fun and I want to do it justice, but I'm too tired. Coming soon so stay tuned!
