So on Wednesday afternoon we pretended to have an Easter morning with Lulu. (Lulu was leaving the next day to travel to Midland to be with Grady and Marissa and their new little one - should be having more information about that soon! - and wouldn't be returning until after Easter.)
Soooo this particular Mommy (ahem, me) had the withitness to get exactly ONE item for each girl's Easter basket (Clara = Piggy Paint, Emma = toy phone), so thankfully Lulu rocks and found lots of other fun goodies to make the baskets more exciting!
(If the bunny ears and masks look familiar from our trip to Midland, you would be correct. Who said gifts aren't just as fun the second time they are received!?)

Guess what she spotted immediately? |
|
A pouch! winner!! and instant gratification. Good thinking, Lulu |
Clara noticed the Easter eggs with candy inside first. They all had those yummy melt in your mouth creamy mint things, and Clara kept munching on them the rest of the evening.
|
OOOOO, candy |
In theory Emma was appreciative of everything she received. In actuality she just really enjoyed emptying the basket of everything in it :)
|
Stickers!! And bambaids!! |

The phone |
Clara was intrigued by the idea of the nail polish and was open to the suggestion of a quick manicure. She, quite naturally, chose pink (who is surprised? hehe). She was very still and waited until we counted to 20 to let it dry, and loved showing them off to everyone at school today! It's called Piggy Paint. It's non-toxic and has no fumes - perfect for little fingers and little toes. It does chip very easily, but it's quick to reapply (and Clara's not too particular about my skill with a nail polish brush, thankfully).

Very happy! |
Emma didn't care about what was IN the eggs so much as the eggs themselves.
Although she was delighted to find raisins inside a few!
|
This just cracks me up. Deadpan expressions and rabbit ears - what else? |
Emma adores hats. If you ask her where her pretty hat is, she'll usually put whatever she holding on her head. She's also usually willing to leave whatever hat she's wearing on for a while if it fits well. She left the headband AND the ears on for a very long time.

Lounging with her WooWoo |
Clara was quick to let us know that "Emma gonna take WOTS (lots) of turns with da phone," mmhmm :)
Maverick made the unwise choice to growl and bark at the door which brought him to my attention. It's really all his fault.
|
So glad Murphy can't see me like this. |
|
Emma loved the masks. They crack her up. |
She then also turned her attention to our poor, long-suffering puppy.
|
heheheh |
She kept trying and trying wanting to get it just right.

Emma was so happy with her success |
Nooooooooo Lulu needs to stay forever!
|
Big hugs for her hero |

Stuffing goldfish in her face and loving on Lulu |
After Lulu left, I consoled Clara with a pedicure too.
|
Pitty BLUE this time! |
And Bryan, Clara and Emma began another session of our multiple-times-daily reading club.
|
When Clara gets annoyed when Emma trying to eat or beat on their book, she gets another one and Emma plays with the first. |
|
Reading with Mommy and showing off her pretty nails |
Emma likes to answer anything that is semi-flat with a spontaneous "hi!" so having a "real" phone to do that with is even better! My favorite part was when she would answer her phone "hi" and then start waving to it :)
Love these girls! And we love Lulu! Thanks for the early Easter basket fun!
