A "Summer" Afternoon

Our Friday afternoon was a perfect summer day for some scootin' and biking. Of course, it's February, but this is what I imagine summer being like anywhere that isn't Houston ;)

Emma's Ears

This week found Emma and me at Texas ENT taking a look at our littlest lady's ears.

Bad news first: we found out through the audio screening process that due to the lengthy exposure Emma has had to excess fluid in her ears that she's suffered some mild hearing loss. 

Good news: our ENT is hopeful that with careful monitoring of fluid levels and staying on top of it she will not experience any further hearing loss, and it's possible - though we won't know until she's much older - that her hearing can resolve itself. 

We will be putting tubes in Emma's ears and taking out her adenoids on March 4th. 

To make myself feel better after some difficult news, we then treated ourselves to Freebirds with Daddy, Lulu, and Clara! yum :) 

Emma goes poop on the potty!!

A huge poop too. Wow. I'm so happy! We were gonna start potty training on her birthday but she said "I go poopoo" in the tub so we pulled her out and stuck her on the potty and she went. I pray it's this easy the whole way through. It's pull ups starting tomorrow with the goal of panties during the day by her birthday. 

I know it's a weird thing to celebrate when you aren't in the trenches of potty training small children, but it's a pretty big deal to us. And don't worry, I made sure it was a "clean" modest potty photo :)

AND bonus: 25 minutes later she peed on the potty too!

PS. Clara is super excited about helping Emma pick out some panties :)

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day was fun this year!!

First there were a few gifts (like matching dresses and M&Ms)

We then had a spontaneous playdate with the Evans - the girls love playing with Zachary and Victoria.

 Then while the girls took a nap one of our favorite babysitters came over and we left to go to Painting with a Twist!

Then we went to Outback for dinner, came home and put our little tiny Valentines to bed. It was a good day!

School Valentines Parties

Last year and this year at the girls' Valentines Day Party at school!!

First I joined Emma at her party (still haven't figured out how to be in 2 places at one time). 

And then the two of us joined Clara at her class' party:

(They listened to a story and Emma shared the bear she received from her teacher with C)

Then they took a peek at the Valentines they received. 

And then the girls were really surprised and excited when Lulu & Papa showed up to party with them!

After some ice cream, we all went to the kindergarten classroom for the "Sweetheart Dance".

Once we got home the girls had fun re-looking through their Valentines and playing.

C: Oh. Well. Yeah. She's right behind me.
