Monday Monday

Happy Monday!
"I pitty at school today, Mommy"
is there anything sweeter than a sleeping baby?
Maybe an awake smiling baby ... :)

Today when I picked Emma up after school she gave me her first big sloppy open mouth kisses and I LOVE it! Slobber has never been sweeter :) This girl knows her mama!

:)
Playing in the outdoor kitchen in progres

"Yaya in tower!"

Hide'n'seek in the cabinet we took out of the laundry room so that we could have a sink.

Then little bit got to go for a ride (make sure you mute your computer so you don't have to listen to me having a conversation on the phone in the background):

Emma cooking dinner with Daddy, AKA screaming until Mommy rescued her from the evil bumbo.

And took her for a backpack ride

Hugs for puppy :)

Aluminum, babies, sink and crackers

Past weekend happenings:

I went to the ER because I swallowed a coke can tab like an idiot and it got stuck in my throat.
No damage other than a very sore throat for a few days.

One of Clara's new favorite snacks is animal crackers with peanut butter.

Emma moved up to size 3-6 PJs

Clara's new favorite phrase is "Yaya has dirty hands" all day long.

Bryan got our new sink all hooked up in the laundry room! whoo!

Emma likes to see the pretty baby in the mirror almost as much as she likes to stare at mommy :)

Goober

Took a bath together

tiny stripper, cute bum :)

And that's really it! I hope you had a great weekend too!

Oh yes and a bonus video I forgot to include from an earlier post that I like :)

US on our 5th Anniversary

After my last post I realized we didn't have a single picture taken together today so now we do!

5th anniversary! (in the style of parents of young children)

Well, the first part of the day was Houston flooding and me "teaching" (school was cancelled after I got there because several roads in our area were closed or impassable). And then it was taking care of our two rugrats and an insurance debacle. And then it was a pizza playdate with friends.

Sounds romantic, right?
Okay, no.

BUT it is real life and I honestly wouldn't change it. Why not celebrate our anniversary with two of the people who have impacted our marriage the most?

Because I'm feeling nostalgic though, here are a few of my favorite photos from our wedding day 5 years ago!

And then fast-forward until you get to today!
We met for lunch at BJ's Brewery (one of my favorite restaurants) and took turns bouncing Emma and feeding her some apples.

Then I needed a safe place to stash her while I did a few quick chores around the house.
Here she is in a baby crib/baby flower tub combo. Why not? Houston was flooding anyway, haha.

And she really liked it!

Kicked back and enjoying the soft fabric
:)
Then we collected Clara and drove over to the Bunnis household.
The kids got to play:

and get some energy out. And we enjoyed pizza.

And, in typical Kate-fashion, I did something stupid. In this particular case I somehow managed to swallow a coke can tab (how!?) I'm waiting to figure out what I should do about that ...

Anyway, happy anniversary to the coolest dude in town.
Love you mister. All the time. Forever and ever. Really, really.

Catch-up #2

I know I keep jumping around but here is my catching up post #2!

You may remember me mentioning in a previous post that Clara takes this little yellow car everywhere? I don't even know where it came from but she LOVES it. So random, but who am I to think it's odd?!

Hanging out on Daddy:

Clara has learned how to tickle Daddy back which CRACKS me up but he can't stand it! ha!

Daddy/Daughter Technology bonding
 Mmmm orange "pops-lick-al" :)

Minnie Mouse with yellow rain boots! so happy!
just hanging out with her ballerina doll
A little casual afternoon golfing with Mommy

Love these girls and the time I get to spend with them!

How is she so hilarious!?

Clara LOVES rain. After she got over her fear of thunder it's been so much fun to see how much she likes "outside water." ("outside water "= the actual rain drops; "rain" = thunder)

Of course it's been basically a monsoon around here and you can't convince Clara to hang out inside and miss the show. Here she is insisting on eating her (now very soggy) snack outside IN the rain.
Notice the camera angle ... I am INSIDE with Emma keeping an eye on her :)
(you can also see the patio progress and outdoor kitchen progress in the above photo!)

I don't know if you can tell but it is POURING in this picture (ON Clara!)
Mommy .... is wet? Yep, you sure are, m'dear. Haha

Hazel-eyed little love
blue eyed goofy ballerina
 Clara's favorite person: Woowoo!

Mav got a little damp helping keep an eye on Clara in the rain. It really concerned him that she was out there! (Also, he needs a haircut.)

Face time with Molly!

Oh man, moving on up to 3-6 month pajamas! Crazy!

Emma Lou LOVES watching this video of herself! It cracks her up (and me too!):
