Baby is Bouncing & Clara is Beeping

As we get nearer to meeting Edith, we've been reading Clara Big Sister books and talking about babies a LOT. We've also been breaking out some of the baby equipment to familiarize Clara with it before we actually use any of it (Rock n Play, bouncer, baby bath tub, etc).

Tonight Clara read Baby a bedtime story, put her in the bouncer and sang her "Wheels on the Bus" and then fed her a snack before declaring adamantly it was night night time.

Enjoy the video! (It gets really good about 30 seconds in)

OB Appt: 35 weeks

Today I met with my OB again to check on Edith and see how I'm doing with blood pressure, protein, etc.

Edith is doing great, measuring on track, strong heart beat at 138 beats per minute, kicking like crazy, and breech. I don't think they believed me over the phone that I was having contractions when they asked, but I had 3 while I was there that they saw and felt, so it's not all in head! (or womb? :) This kiddo isn't trying to delay her debut the way Clara did :)

X-rays showed the fracture is no better, and looking a bit worse actually, so I'm meeting with an orthopedic surgeon next week. It may require a screw surgically inserted to make my hip line up properly again. That is a little tricky with a baby in there, so we're trying to figure out the logistics of a c-section, early labor signs, broken hip, etc. Keep the prayers coming, they are appreciated!

Getting so close to meeting Tiny Two!

a little dose of girly inspiration

Sometimes I question the wisdom of God giving me two little girls to raise after I was a bit of a tomboy, and still don't know anything about makeup, fashion, etc. BUT then I see articles like this that demonstrate to me exactly how Clara, Edith and I will have a ton of fun through their own ideas! Will we ever make paper dresses? Who knows! But I bet we find the perfect way to have fun as a trio of ladies no matter what we do :)

Right now that means reading and drawing HUNDREDS of pictures of cows, ducks, grapes, apples, sheep, faces, etc. But next week .... maybe something else.

Super cute article, I highly recommend!

Busy Sunday!

After all the fun on Saturday you wouldn't think Sunday could keep up, but it did.

Clara looked adorable in her Sunday best of course. Lunch at Chilies, a family outting to the second hand store Kid 2 Kid to see if they had a Sit'n'stand stroller, which they did hooray! And another pair of shoes for Clara which she definitely needed, followed by a short siesta, a trip to Office Depot with Daddy while Mommy wrote some quizzes, sweeping, chicken pot pie, walking the dogs, reading and then bed. Phew. No wonder she's all tuckered out!

The puppies lounge around
Versus Clara's attitude of "Ready to get going, Mommy!"

Glaring at the gate because she's "uck".

love
Two sweetest dates in the joint
Cutie patootie
Takes her coloring very seriously.
Pretty bloomers to show off to the waiter (we'll have to work on modesty :) and LOTS of chicken and oranges for lunch, yummm. It's amazing how much food such a little person can eat.

Toddler/Daddy Face Down

At Kid 2 Kid waiting for Mommy & Daddy to check out her new "choos" and the Sit'n'Stand stroller.
Just a'waitin'
Clara made sure to sweep the floor, fireplace, couch AND Maverick and Goose. When she finished with them she decided Daddy and Mommy needed to be swept too. Then she gave herself a once over good measure. No dust allowed in this house if Clara has anything to say about it!

Such a good dog walker
I am getting HUGE
Good exercise, Puppies. All done.
Feeding the puppies
Love the Cheerios book!

Happy gram!

I love that Clara is doing so well at preschool!!

And that she loves to sing like her Mommy :)

Basketball & Grandparents

Bryan is a contributing writer for an A&M website called Good Bull Hunting. He's a goofy fella and has made some good friends with other members of the team. Good Bull Hunting invited Bryan and I to join the group in College Station for a lunch/drinking binge and then the Texas A&M vs. Tennesee basketball game.

Thinking that perhaps bars are not the best place for our Sunshine, Clara is spending the day with her Grandpa, Celina, Alexandra, and Ronnie.

Bryan and I drove up to CS, and joined a pretty good sized group of Good Bull Hunting people for lunch at the Dixie Chicken, drinking at the pub Black Water Draw (minus my pregnant self of course. The bar tender was nice and kept me supplied with plenty of water :) It was fun! The guys were hilarious.  Then we went to Reed Arena to watch some Aggie
Hoops.

The Aggies even won!
No one expected us to beat Tennessee, but we did :)

Thank you to the Evans for keeping Clara and to my Mom for getting our house cleaned and laundry done. We are super spoiled!

Playgroup with new friends

We have a small core group for playgroup, which is usually pretty good for the kiddos' sakes, but it does make it fun and exciting when new faces join us! We had three new mommy/tot duos join us yesterday: Liz and Alex (met them at our neighborhood park), Shelley and Logan (12 grade together), and Michelle and Zachariah (Legacy). I'm a firm believer that ALL moms need a support group and other moms to talk to, so I'm so glad they felt comfortable enough to come! In fact, other than Clara, Amber & Alexa were the only other "regulars" that would make it.

The original plan was to take the tots to the park, but the thought of walking the 3/4 of a mile to get there made me nearly cry, especially after a day of already needing to use my hip too much, so everyone was really sweet and agreed to hang loose in the playroom upstairs. (Thank you ladies!)

The pictures aren't great because it's a bunch of toddlers in constant motion plus weird lighting, but you get the idea :)

Right before the dogs got banished to the backyard:

Snack time! Grapes, oranges, raisins and pretzels, yummm.

Add some puzzles to the snack mix!

Upstairs, the bus is always a hit with the small fry

Mr. Alex reallllly liked the stroller :)

Clara and Zachariah played (mostly) nicely with the princess castle for quite a while.

Cooking up some grub

can you spot the tiny naked baby in the stroller?
Even Daddy joined in on the action! (I love Fridays off!!)

Once all of our friends had to go, Lulu read Clara some stories.

And Clara made sure to change Baby's diaper in case she was dirty.

It was fun! (and busy!)
Love all of our sweet friends - mommies AND munchkins!

Nursery Letters for Tiny Two!

HUGE thanks to Bryan and Mom for all of the help! I so, so, so appreciate it!!

Here are the letters we will hang in Baby Edith's room!

A close up of the flare on the letter T - it makes me laugh :)

Okay sweet girl! Mommy feels much less stressed now!

Love you and meet you soon!

(Tutorial coming soon for those interested in making their own.)
