Bluebonnets 2014

It's that time of year: Bluebonnets!!

Clara was Miss No-Nap yesterday so we probably could have managed better pictures a different day, but we were on a count down to Tiny Two and I wasn't sure how long they would last after we got out of the hospital. If I'm doing alright and so is T.T., then we may try to get some of both girls in the bluebonnets late next week if they still are around. We'll see!

What are we doing here, Mom?

I don't wanna stand here in the flowers!!

I'll sit for 5.3 seconds. You better hurry with that camera.

Mommy attempted to make it better by getting in the flowers with her.
No luck by the way.

This is probably the best picture we have of Clara in the bluebonnets by herself :)
Love the pebbles hair do! Only a toddler can pull it off.

Best family photo
A rare grin that afternoon :)
Just because I gave you one doesn't mean I'll keep smiling, Mommy.

The butterfly flew away. The grass is green. The sun wasn't smiling.
And then she spotted "Riah!" - our sweet friends came to meet us to get some family pictures of both. Michelle is due tomorrow and I'm delivering tomorrow so they were having the same thoughts we were about attempting blue bonnet pictures.

sweet toddler hugs

Clara is a busy bee, and so is this little man

such sweet friends
 Cutie!!

Then the kids got a chance to play on the playground for a little while.
Takes his big boy sliding seriously
Climb up. Slide down. Climb up. Slide down. Repeat, repeat.

Michelle'n'I - both anxious to meet our little ones!

The next picture you see of us we won't be pregnant anymore! :)

Then we went to eat Los Cucos, the kids did great and it was delicious. Life is so good with such wonderful friends.

The day before Tiny Two!

A little attitude & rain

Clara has starting developing rather specific and decided opinions lately. For instance, notice the shoes on her feet. They are a size too big and they are "church" shoes, yet these are the ones she wants to wear all.the.time. not in the slightest phased by how often they cause her to trip.

She is also pretty stubborn about bedtime these days. Yesterday she was not interested, so she tried to close us AWAY from the stairs so we wouldn't carry her up.
You can tell by the cheeky smile on her face that she thought this would work nicely.

Just being silly

But then a storm came quick and hard! Our rather fearless youngster was terrified of all the lightening and thunder at first.

A few cuddles and selfies with Mommy almost made it better ...

But then it started hailing too and it was all over :(

So sad :(
Maverick & Goose were either scared too or just glad to have a chance to cuddle with Mommy and Tiny.

I do love all these sweet critters - even when they drive me nuts :)

Clara and her babies

Baby got a bath and then needed a short walk. I think Clara is going to be an amazing big sister.

Oh, pups

Just another regular evening in this household.

Everyone needs to be close to Mommy.

Daddy Daycare

Are you tired of my over-blogging lately?? I can't seem to help myself.

Bryan sent me this video this morning of "Daddy Daycare" which is what we call it when Daddy lets Mommy sleep in and he observes Clara's incredible level of activity :)

Clara's 1st Rodeo: The Band Perry

Yesterday (Saturday) was Clara's first trip to the Rodeo (outside of the womb). Two years ago she joined us in my tummy, last year the rodeo was me'n'Bryan's first date night post-Clara's-birth, and then yesterday she got to go along on her own two feet!

She wasn't sure what all the fuss was about, but she liked the sound of a trip full of cows, horses and family, so she was ready to go! Plus she loved her new outfit :) Who wouldn't!?

It took us a little over an hour to get there, park and get inside. By that time Clara thought cows and horses and family might not be worth it .... sorry for the long trip, Sunshine.
She was very ready for some love from Lulu & Papa once we got there.

At first all the noise overwhelmed her a bit, so she watched with Papa for just a little while before retreating back inside to get away from commotion.

So many family members (and significant others) were there!
Meemaw & Papa, Lulu & Papa, Tricia & Dewayne, Kevin & his fiance Kelsey, Kyle and his squeeze Korinne, Jana & Keith, Reed, Regan & her squeeze Cade, Garrett, Bryan, Clara & I (and Tiny Two in the womb). It was a wonderful group!

A long car ride, lots of noise, and a hungry toddler don't make for happy smiles.

But THREE chicken legs, ice cream, popcorn and some cuddles later, she was ready to have fun!
Loved trying on Papa's hat!

Lulu and Clara found the stairs to the be the ideal place to enjoy the rodeo most of the time :)

Side note: I have the GREATEST respect for those individuals who take their small children to things like this and sit in chairs. Clara usually does awesome at these things because she gets to move around. HOW DO YOU DO IT OTHERWISE!? I have no idea. Kudos to all of you!

B, L & Reed:

Warmed up enough that the noise no longer bothered her. Time to watch out for some moo's and neigh's!
Notice the almost always-present popcorn :)
Mommy, Lulu & Clara Beth!
Papa took this great picture of 4 generations!!
Meemaw, Lulu, Mommy & Clara Beth
It was almost a date for us since our family did most of the Clara-care :)

Is 1, 2, or 3 going to win the race, Clara?
I am in LOVE with this child, and I'm also completely digging her outfit. Check out the bow, the dress and the boots. I wish I looked that good! She received many compliments from all sorts of people. I think we're all wondering when they are going to make that dress in adult sizes!

Climbing the stairs, playing with chairs, you know, toddler shenanigans :) I'll post most of the videos at the bottom.

Hanging out and watching the show:

Proof Tiny Two was there. She wasn't going to take all that noise lying down!

Sweet great-grandparents with their oldest great-grandbaby:

:)
Time for the Rodeo to wrap up and the concert to start: The Band Perry. I know they are a popular group, but I think they may need to work on their musicality during live performances.
Clara thought it was great though! Especially the fireworks at the beginning. Whoa.

It cooled off and got a little chilly, so we put her little denim jacket on. All better!
After a few songs it was almost 8pm and we were proud of how well she was doing but didn't want to risk it going south, so it was time to go.

Sweet Ms. Mary who takes such good care of everyone in the suite gave Clara a little bracelet and she adores it! I tried to get a picture of her wearing it, but you can't really see it.

Mommy & baby girl :)

You can see the bracelet in this one :)

It was 9:30pm before this tiny trooper got to go night night! She was really sleepy, but I thought she did so well at the rodeo and we had such a good time!! Thank you for inviting us Lulu & Papa!!

Videos:
Once she realized the rodeo was fun!

Making some friends :)

Makes me laugh :)
