Rubber Ducky

Tonight CB had her very first big girl bath!

She loved it!! :)
(Despite what some of the expressions may look like)

And the puppies were there to keep an eye on things, thank goodness.

Double Trouble

Bryan (I mean CLARA, *cough cough*) wanted to take a picture with the Texan cheerleaders :)

I didn't have it for my earlier post, but couldn't leave you without it!!

CB's 1st NFL game

We gladly took my parents up on their offer of tickets to the Texans game!

We got to see my parents, Grady, Marissa, Leah, Duncan, Josh & the Pattersons, plus a few other Anadarko people!!

Of course Clara was looking fabulously adorable in her wee Texan gear :)

Cousin Murphy visits

We are delighted to announce that Grady & Marissa are back in Houston! While they unpacked we volunteered to take their pup, Murphy, for the weekend. You may be able to imagine how much fun all the puppies have been having together wrestling, walking & snuggling.

I'm so glad our dogs get along so well together!!

Gingerbread House Competition

I don't know what happened to my prior blog post but it went crazy and deleted all of my text and rearranged the photos! Weird.

So our neighbors invited us to join their church for their Gingerbread House Competition. We almost bailed because I'd been having some really rough days physically and Clara had been a grump, but we decided we could use a distraction, and I'm sooo glad we went! It was a lot of fun!

When we first got there everyone lined up for hotdogs and funnel cakes outside.

Very dark picture of Bryan, me & Clara:

Lots of our neighbors went! Saliks, Roberts, Yees, Griffiths, Owens & us :)

After dinner we headed inside to find our station:

I tried to figure out how on earth I was going to build a gingerbread house with a baby on me, hmmmmm.
Styrofoam is delicious!
Sweet Heather & Owen ready to take us on:

Jamie & Tyler prepared to get started:

On your mark, get set ..... GO! 30 minutes on the clock.

Alicia helped us while I tried to figure out what to do with Clara.

I must have been sulking at my inability to participate because Kara very sweetly swooped in and grabbed the baby so I could help!!

:)

Our creation!!
We were really struggling to get our building to stay together, so I had a momentary stroke of genius - let's build a creche so we only need 3 walls and a partial roof!! Brilliant.

Our creation!

Note Mary, Joseph, & Baby Jesus in the manager, the sheep, goat, 3 kings & star of Bethlehem!
We also used coconut and smashed chex mix for snow/hay.

Go Team Evans!

Me and my sweeeeeeet baby girl!!! yummy graham crackers :)

After the building while the judges were deliberating there was another building with tons of crafts for everyone ages 2-high school to do. I decided to participate with the high schoolers :) No one seemed to mind.

We built a tree out of scrapbook paper. Fun and cute!

Almost finished!

We found out later that we got a shout out for "Best Manger Scene" :)
Great night out!

Thanks for inviting us Peter & Kara!!!

Shesus (Lady Baby Jesus)

Last night we were asked to play the role of the holy family at KUMC (I go to MOPS there and know lots of the members there even though we attend a different church) for their Night at Bethlehem. This event is for the kids to experience what it might have been like - they met the wise men, shepherds, and Jesus. They also visited "shops" where they "bought" local food (plus hot dogs) and made fun crafts. It was such an awesome event for kids and we will definitely be back next year!

We felt like such celebrities as all the kiddos wanted to meet baby Jesus and wish "him" a happy birthday! We were in soooo many pictures. And I got to talk to so many of them about the role "we" played in the Bible. Really fun!!

It was pretty late for our sweet baby girl (6:30-8:30) so we had to bail around 8 thanks to some serious fussing, but I think everyone understood that even Jesus had to get some sleep :)

Playground

We now know that all 3 of our dependent beings love the playground!!

Clara loves to swing in her own baby swing or with her momma. She also really enjoys going down the slides (in one of our laps, of course).

The dogs, too, really enjoyed a good romp all over the playground equipment and even went down the slide a few times!!

Thanks to my friend Rachel who decided to come hang with us yesterday afternoon, we have some really cute pictures and even better videos :)
