Today Landon turns 1 year old! His party is on Saturday so you'll hear about us celebrating Landon again soon.
Clara was a crabby cake all Sunday and this morning, so I was actually kind of dreading playgroup. Then, suddenly, about 10 minutes before our friends were supposed to show up, Clara FINALLY fell asleep for a nap. Thank goodness. There was noooooo way I was going to wake her up for playgroup, so the first 2 hours of playgroup Clara slept and I just hung out! It was a bit of a different experience for me, haha.
Since it's Landon's birthday, Lauren brought cupcakes. They were a "smashing" hit with the kiddos. (See what I did there? :)
Since Clara was sleeping and I desperately needed her to stay that way, we figured it was a perfect time to relocate to the backyard for some pool time, where loud noises are perfectly acceptable, and even encouraged.

Pretty soon Alexa climbed in to join him.
And then Natalie and Devon joined us! Apparently Devon was all about the later nap today too.
We hooked the hose up to the elephant nose, and the kids enjoyed splashing in it. The adults finally got smart and put our feet in to counteract the insane Houston heat.
Once the wee ones decided swimming was old news, we moved to the patio to air dry.

2 hours after CB fell asleep, I found her in her crib "reading" a book. Go figure. So out she came to play and join the fun!

For Devon's birthday, he received a really cool pop up Avenger's Tent. Natalie was forward thinking and awesome and brought it along today!

After some intense playtime, water was considered the thing.
Oh yes, and more cupcakes!! (Or in Clara's case, her first one since she slept through the earlier round.)

When Clara regressed to feeding ME part of her cupcake and smearing it all over her clothes and mine, I decided it was time to washup and put away the food.
They played for a wee bit longer and then it was time for everyone to go home and take naps.
