What she can grab, she eats

The title pretty much sums it up. Isn't everything meant to be gummed on? :)

Silly Sleep-Deprived Momma

Hmmm I wonder which of the things I packed for my lunch isn't for me?

Oops. :)

Sleep > Fussing

Today the wee one was not happy. I guess a day running errands and at home with Mommy is not nearly as much fun as a a Labor Day with friends, family & swimming!

After an entire day of fussing my Mom came to the rescue so that I could get my grad class homework done on time. Phew. Thank you, Mom! She's one of the few people who doesn't hand her back as soon as CB starts fussing :) I don't blame anyone for doing that (really I don't!), I just especially appreciate my mom's help on days like today when she never stops fussing, but I really need an hour.

And look who finally took the nap she needed and was resisting. Poor baby is starting to teeth and she has a bit of a cold or allergies.

She's so sweet. I wish I could make everything feel better for her. Until then we will just do lots of cuddling, rocking, bouncing and walking :)

Tiny's First Swim!

This Labor Day was extra special because ... well, there wasn't any labor happening, but there was fun with friends, and family - AND some swimming!

MeMaw & Paw Evans, Meemaw & Papaw Meloy, Aunt Tricia & Uncle Dwayne, my parents, and our friends Wendy & Ross & their 8 month old son Henry also joined in on all the fun.

Here are some great-grandparents enjoying some cuddles with their great-grandbaby:

Momma decided Clara needed to try swimming for the first time, so here we are getting our swim diaper, swim suit, and sunblock on:

Hanging with Momma in the pool :)

Daddy blew up this fun baby float for wee Clara Beth to float around in. She's not *quite* big enough yet, but she did enjoy it with very close supervision for about 15 minutes. I'm bummed Bryan's eyes are closed!

Wendy with Henry, and me with CB:

Swimming (or floating around in someone else's arms is very hard work:

So sweet. And so fun. Love you Baby Nemo.

Classroom Flipping

For those that I've talked to about "flipping my classroom" this year, it's very similar to what Kahn Academy is doing. I'm definitely not this good, but I really hope this will make a difference in my one small classroom the way he has all over the world. There was a segment on 60 Minutes tonight about it - it's so incredible where education is heading! I LOVE the idea of a teacher being a mentor/facilitator instead of a lecturer. Love it!!
Please feel free to watch the segment and be amazed!! I would love to make such a big difference on even a few students as this man is doing world-wide.
Click on the link below to read/watch the segment:
Khan Academy: The Future of Education
And then feel free to watch one of my videos just to get an idea of how I'm trying to implement the similar concept:
Mrs Evans: MAPS

So much to say!

Here's baby girl trying to explain how things are to her Daddy.

Nona's/LuLu's Masterpiece

This is my first time to use the Blogger App on iPhone so hopefully it works!

This is the gorgeous cross stitch my Mom made Clara. She spent I have no idea how many hours working on it.

What a special gift for a very special grandbaby.

Love these girls!!
