You may be a little crazy lately, and a wee bit jealous of Clara, but I love you soo much budsie. You're the best pup and a wonderful big brother!
PS. Sorry I didn't take a picture until you were snoozing :)

Time with LuLu
If you read my previous post you already know I'm running low on moral and energy, so I am extremely grateful to my mom for spending the week with Clara & I while Bryan is in Denver for work.
Aunt Marissa's table is a good hiding spot |
It's impossible to get a non-blurry picture of 2 dogs & a baby :) |
Thanks for letting me eat your broccoli cheese casserole! |
Mmmm mmmm |
Vent from an exhausted mom
Postpartum depression is no joke.
I cherish Clara and know she is smart, loving, gorgeous and sweet.
I love her so much. SO much.
However, I feel horribly equipped to handle this huge lack of sleep, the aches, and the fussing. This is so far out of my league I can't even describe it.
I'm exhausted and very frustrated. I really do try to put on a happy face 90% of the time, but sometimes I just need to spew.
I am selfish, I admit it. The 24 hour on call thing has me feeling drained and desiring some serious me-time.
I want to remember this feeling when we consider another child. I really don't know that I'm equipped with the right mentality.

Monday Happenings
Mondays are a big day around here. Clara and I play in the mornings, she takes a nap while I work on my homework, and then we have afternoon playgroup. Some of C's little buddies came over to play and all of the mommies visited.
One serious advantage to the weather being 80*F in January is that
Clara and I can hang out on the lawn soaking in the sun and
enjoying the breeze.
(Otherwise I'd really rather it be chilly, but we needed to take advantage anyway.)
I love this picture!! |
Then Clara practiced her crawling skills:
Like I said, it's been a big day over here.

Clara <3 Daddy
I may be moody and all over the place, but Bryan is a rock. He is a wonderful husband and a loving Dad - and he gets better and better at it as time goes on.
I thought this was much too sweet not to share.

Pack'n'Play Fun
For the very first time I set Clara in her PNP to play while I finished up a paper for my class. She played by herself for a full 15 minutes before I stepped out of the room to pull dinner out of the over and she decided it's no fun with momma is out of sight!
Love to hear her "talk!"
Nostalgia
While I do completely believe that Bryan and I made the right decision regarding my employment this semester, I've really been missing my classroom, students and co-workers! MISS THEM. I really need to get up to the school and give hugs all around.
I saw this on a friend's facebook post and many of them are very true and made me smile :)
HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU’RE A TEACHER? By Jeff Foxworthy
1.You get a secret thrill out of laminating things.
2.You can hear 25 voices behind you and know exactly which one belongs to the child out of line.
3.You walk into a store and hear the words, “It’s Ms./Mr. ____________ and know you have been spotted.
4.You have 25 people who accidentally call you Mom/Dad at one time or another.
5.You can eat a multi-course meal in under 25 minutes.
6.You’ve trained yourself to go to the bathroom at two distinct times of the day, lunch and planning period.
7.You start saving other people’s trash, because most likely, you can use that toilet paper tube or plastic butter tub for something in the classroom.
8.You believe the Teacher’s Lounge should be equipped with a margarita machine.
9.You want to slap the next person who says, “Must be nice to work 7 to 3 and have summers off”.
10.You believe chocolate is a food group.
11.You can tell if it’s a full moon without ever looking outside.
12. You believe that unspeakable evils will befall you if anyone says, “Boy, the kids are sure mellow today.”
13.You feel the urge to talk to strange children and correct their behavior when you are out in public.
14.You believe in aerial spraying of Ritalin.
15.You think caffeine should be available in intravenous form.
16.You spend more money on school stuff than you do on your own children.
17.You can’t pass the school supply aisle without getting at least 5 items!
18. You ask your friends to use their words and explain if the left hand turn he made was a “good choice” or “bad choice.”
19.You find true beauty in a can full of perfectly sharpened pencils.
20. You are secretly addicted to hand sanitizer.
21.You understand, instantaneously, why a child behaves in a certain way after meeting his/her parents.

Mobile Baby
Clara is a crawling machine!!
(Excuse Maverick's desire to co-star, please :)
This video was from one of her first attempts, but now she's really cruising. She also learned how to sit and pull up on one of her toys in the last few days. That's a lot of new skills in a short span of time!

The Word is delicious
Clara Beth loves her Little Lion Bible. It's frequently a part of our bedtime routine.
Of course after we are finished reading, she feels the need to devour the Word in a different way too :)
It's an awesome Bible if you're looking for a baby friendly one!

Fun with tiny friends!
Lately Clara has really enjoyed playing with so many friends! These kiddos crack me up :) They are still having trouble "being gentle" but over all it's so fun to hear them crack each other up.
There will be a video coming soon of Clara playing with Landon :)
Enjoy!! (They are from a few different occasions.)

7 months
Clara Beth,
You are 7 months old!! And you can do so many things!
You ...
"Talk" (babble) all. the. time. It is so fun to hear!
You can make "ah" "ya" "ba" "blah" "gah" "da" sounds, and sometimes you string them together to make funny words like "yablahda." I'm convinced you will be a famous speaker :)
Laugh!! You make this crazy hissing/cackle sound that cracks us up as well as big belly giggles.
Smile at everyone, although it sometimes takes a few minutes.
Roll over front to back and back to front with no effort at all anymore. In fact, it helps you get where you want to go!
Army crawl! It's the cutest thing. You've almost figured out "real" crawling, because you'll get on your hands and knees and rock back and forth, and while occasionally you can move like this, usually it results in lunging and face planting.
Sleep at night! (whoo hoo!) From 7:45pm-5am, and then from 5-7:30am. Mommy & Daddy are HUGE fans of this progress.
Love your Violet, pretend TV remote, caterpillar mirror, and cube, but you're also willing to play with anything that gets close enough to touch.
Eat constantly. You still nurse like a champ, but we also feed you solids so you'll eat a little bit of whatever we're having for dinner plus some purees and your very favorite: BANANAS. Yumm. You can polish off an entire banana by yourself, it's pretty amazing.
Wear size 3 diapers, and 6-9 month old clothes.
Try to grab Maverick's tail any chance you get.
Love to be outside and see the kids and dogs playing in the street.
Take 2 naps a day (most days) - one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
I love you baby girl!!

Tardy Christmas Post #4: Happy M Ranch
Why should the holiday celebrations stop at Christmas? The 5 of us packed up our carload of stuff and went to go hang out with my family at the ranch for a few days later that week.
First there was a "limo" ride around the property.
This is Maverick's idea of Heaven. Wide open spaces, all the people that he loves, and riding with the wind in his face.
Does it get any better than that?
Clara bundled up for the ride with her momma:
With LouLou (LuLu?):
I ADORE THIS PHOTO!! Thank you for taking it, Mom!
My people:
Another good one:
With PawPaw .... oh, I mean, "Baba" :)
PawPaw & LouLou & Baby Girl
I can't help but giggle:
Rocking with Meemaw Meloy:
The Warrior has fallen. He's so handsome! (And the deer is pretty amazing too :)
Thanks for filling up our freezer again!
Sleepy baby bear snuggles:
Love Uncle G & Auntie M!
Our Christmas gift to Dad. Pretty cool!!
