Trip to Denver!! Part 2

Throughout the week we did lots of small day trips, some have photos and some don't :( I wrote a summary of our trip in an earlier post, so I'll just hit the big ones here.

One of the most fun day trips we did was to drive up to the Rocky National Park and check out Estes Park, which was partly closed off due to snow volume, but we were able to see a lot of it. Very pretty!!

We tried to take some timed photos of all 5 of us while we were there .... I tried to run quick enough and face planted in the snow the first take. The second one went much better :)

Another major day trip we did was to hike around the Garden of the Gods. Very cool! It was also very high up so we were having a bit of trouble breathing after a while.

One other big one was our day trip to Golden, CO - Janie & I did walked around the downtown area in the snow while Bryan & Tyler did a tour of Coors. It was a lot of fun - but no pictures.

The drive back was fairly uneventful. Since there was a blizzard that closed down all the high ways we would have used to get through New Mexico, we ended up going through Kansas (Our baby's already been to New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, and Oklahoma - not too bad for only being 17 weeks old :).

We stayed at a hotel that night - 5 adults and 3 dogs. Wow. There was one bed, a fold out couch bed, a pallet, and kennels involved. Let's just say it was a little crowded and crazy, but we all got at least some sleep, and made it back by evening the next day. (It ended up being right around a 19 hour drive too).

Home sweet home! Great trip, wonderful friends, lots of unpacking to do :)
