Dress-Ups!!

I am asked all the time if Clara really does loving dressing up and mixing and matching dresses and tights and leggings and hats and gloves and shoes as much as she appears to. The answer is unequivocally YES.

She has really enjoyed several of her other Christmas presents too:

We've had so much fun with all of the legos!!
The train set is awesome too
But for Clara, she just adores dressing up. The following photos have been taken over the last three weeks on various days. No special occasion. Usually coming home from errands, spending a lazy day around the house, after dinner, etc. I apologize for the lack of context, but I truly can't keep straight all of her dress up times, and I don't usually remember to take pictures, so here's what I have :)

Hello sweet Cinderella
Emma is most definitely not as into dressing up as Clara. She rarely allows Clara to pick out what she puts on, which makes Clara sad. It's been a good lesson in talking about what makes everyone special. Clara loves to dress up and sing, Emma loves to build legos and dance, her cousin Molly is a good artist, and little cousin JJ may be an athlete. However, every now and then Emma lets Clara use Emma like a large baby doll and it makes Clara's day :)

I love this one

At first Clara's very favorite dress up pieces were the SHOES and the crown, but now that she gets to play with them all the time she likes to experiment and add a variety of hats, aprons, wings, accessories on top of dresses and the shoes.

The Cinderella dress (Elsa a close second) is her favorite dress, the Ariel shoes are definitely her favorite, she adores the crown and the ladybug antennas, and the pink wings are her favorite. But don't worry, she still plays with all of the rest of it :)

Crown AND chef's hat!
She also adores necklaces and bracelets. She's been begging me to get her ears pierced, too. Right now the answer is "no" but I have promised to think about it. She knows that she can get them done when she turns 10, but that's "lots and lots and lots of birthdays away, mommy". It's true, sweetheart.

Sorry for all of the videos that are about to come, they are just way too cute to not share.

CB, talking to herself while pacing from the play kitchen to their little table and grabbing a broom, "I just don't know how to do it all. All the babies need FOOD. Maverick throws up on the floors. Emma poops in a bus. Oh my gosh, and bring-bring, there's the phone. Yesssssss I can make cookies. Babies! Pipe down, I can't hear. The oven is hot Emma, go away. It'll huwt." hahahah

😂sounds about right, Missy.

I'm sure there will be SO many more pictures of Clara's love of dress up to come. I just wanted to share something that she's so passionate about.

  1. I love this post so much! But not as much as that sweet, creative fashionista ;)
