San Francisco Day 4: Zip-Lining + Vino

Saturday morning in San Francisco, Day #4. We got to sleep in a little bit, have a leisurely breakfast (Should I rant about the breakfast people? No…. they tried.), and then hit the trail once more. This time we took a very lloonngg drive (well, 3 hours or so, which felt pretty long because the road was very twisty, turny, up-y & down-y) east-ward to go zip-lining at Moaning Caverns! After a much needed restroom and lunch break at Subway, we signed in & prepared to wait a little while before we could actually zip.

Bryan decided it would be more fun to rock climb than just wait, so off he went!

Shortly thereafter, Dad & Grady couldn’t resist doing the same thing, so off they went too!

Our group name was called, and everyone but Papaw (who manned the camera!) suited up and got ready to zip.

When we rode up the hill we found out that the liability forms we signed weren’t actually for zip-lining after all, but for the scary truck ride J Kidding, kidding! Though, I have to say – scary. Two by two we went off! I don’t have all of Papaw’s pictures unfortunately, so maybe when I get them I can do another post with the great pictures he took, but for now enjoy these! (Please note Grandma's expression in the first picture, too. Priceless!)

After the adrenaline rush, someone mentioned that about 4 miles north was the town of Murphy – with 21 wineries all within a mile or so, 11 of which had free tasting! Perfect! Off we went, of course :)

The first unplanned, random stop we made was at Val du Vino Winery – Delicious! My favorite winery yet! I guess it just goes to show you … you never know until you try. They even had a zinfandel that I liked – who knew that was possible? They also a dessert wine that is AWESOME. Not only did Bryan & I buy 2 bottles, but Mom & Dad got one, AND Meemaw & Papaw got one. Think we liked it?

Next up was Broll Mountain Vineyards. I think my parents enjoyed that one, but the rest of us were a little pooped and losing our enthusiasm, so after this winery we headed home.

After all of the unplanned wine tasting this day, we decided Italian would be the thing, and enjoyed dinner together at the Castagnola Italian Restaurant at Fisherman's Wharf before all getting another good night’s rest.
