The Dark Knight Rises: Baby Edition

Bryan works an awesome 9/80 schedule, which means he works longer days but gets every other Friday off - whoop! We have loved this schedule this summer especially. I'm about to go back to work on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, so those precious Fridays spent together are about to be over for a little while :(

So we decided we needed to do something extra-fun this Friday! We've both been wanting to see the 3rd Batman movie- The Dark Knight Rises. We watched first two earlier this week to remember them better. We had originally thought to ask someone to babysit and we could get out just the two of us for the first time, but didn't plan well enough to do that, so we decided why not just take her with us? We went to a theatre that's not usually very full, and definitely fairly empty in the mornings. Plus we were going to see a movie that had been out for a while, so we figured it wouldn't be very crowded at all. We were right! There were maybe 10-15 other people in the theatre with us to see the movie. Sweet.

She slept through most of it, nursed once, and then just hung out cooing and hiccuping. No one heard her and it was super easy. She got a teensy fussy at one point, but we made sure to sit in the back so one of us could stand up and bounce her a bit - 15 minutes later she was fast asleep again. I doubt anyone even realized we had a baby there :)

After the movie was over we of course had to document her first movie going experience!

Snuggled with Momma:

This was a joke ... we did NOT have her sitting by herself in a chair :)

Looking around with Daddy after the show:

Waiting in the lobby for Momma:

Yaaawwnnn..

The Dark Knight Rises - on a very sunny afternoon :)

I think we would both be game for trying this again on a weekend morning. It was fun! And the movie was good too.
