4 months old! (yesterday)

Sweet baby girl,

You are 4 MONTHS OLD! I would ask where the time has gone, but I already know. It's gone to snuggles, rocking, lesson planning, napping, car rides, homework, afternoons spent outside in the occasional breeze, football games, evening walks, time with grandparents, meeting new people, and learning to laugh. It's spent smiling and crying, cooing and sleeping, and learning to reach and swat and tug. I can't believe all of the newness of this past month!

You are 13lbs and 4oz. You are 24" long - 2 whole feet! You are, according to your pediatrician, on track to at least be a few inches taller than mommy :) We'll see!

You smile at people when they smile at you. You love to "talk" on and on and on. You try out different sounds like "guh" and "baa" and "hooowa." I have yet to see anyone listen to you and not immediately smile. Your volume increases as you get excited, sleepy, or if other people are talking around you, like you NEED to be heard!

I always wondered if these "blow outs" I heard people talk about really happened, and then you turned 3 months old. Almost every single day for the last month I've had to change your outfit because you've managed to poop all over it. And then you smile so big. It's a little gross, but hilarious, and it never bothers me. Except maybe for the one time when it was all over the car seat and car .... but what can you do? :)

You are a social butterfly.
You are a lover of colors and patterns.
The puppies capture your attention, especially if they decide to lick you.
You've figured out how to reach for something you want, although you aren't quite coordinated yet to always get it.
E.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. goes straight into your mouth. Everything! Your favorite thing is your A&A blanket. I ordered a few more just in case something ever happens to those things.
Your tongue is always sticking out. You love to gnaw on it and lick everything. It's so stinking funny.

I love you pumpkin!!
Mommy

Can't resist your toothless grin
The ever present tongue :)
Finding your feet the last few days!
Bow = toy?? :)
