Independence Day Weekend! Always a fun one full of red, white, and blue :)
On Thursday we started off the day with a little conversation:
And then went to Clara's school where they had a July 4th Parade. Sweet Miss Clara caught sight of Emma and I and just bawled through the entire thing.
Emma slept through it though :)
I ended up going with Clara to her class to read with her and sit with her during lunch and let her show me everything so she could calm down.
That evening Clara was BIG into sharing her books with her sissy :)
After turning 2 years old Clara actually discovered a TV show she likes by complete accident called Bubble Guppies - she ADORES the show and I really don't mind it either. She seems to be learning some from it and they have great catchy songs that she likes to sing along with, like the following:
But she's also recently become obsessed with wanting to wear her ballet garb every evening. Unfortunately, Mommy can be an idiot, and I was WASHING her (quite dirty) tights and leotard, and Clara was sad thought the world was coming to an end because it was going "wound and wound in dere!" and she wanted it OUT of there so she could wear it!
Since I wouldn't open the washing machine full of water and soap to get them out, she threw a tantrum, grabbed the closest clothing item that had pink in it like a ballerina (a 3 mo dress Emma wears), and tried to put it on.
Oh Miss Clara, you crack me up :)
The next day was the actual 4th!
Since all of The Woodland's Aquatic Centers were free for the day, we decided to take advantage and go to Rob Flemmings for the first time! (It's basically a very tiny water park in our neighborhood.
Clara was super excited to be going "swim with Riah!" after I told her we were going to the water park with our friends.
Emma felt rather chill about the whole thing |
Getting used to the water right when it opened with Mommy:
We had lots of fun playing in the water with our friends.
At once point all 8 of us were floating around the lazy river (Emma in my lap, Jonah in Michelle's, and Riah in Logan's while Clara started in Bryan's, then he held her while they walked, and then she climbed up with Emma & I - she's big on constant movement :). We must've looked crazy, but we had a ton of fun!
Then it was time to get dried off, change our clothes and head home for some needed naps.
Clara loves the cover up she was given by Grandpa, Celina, Ronnie & Alexandra!

When Clara got up from her nap we heard her yelling "UCK! UCK! BABY UCK!"
This is why:
No idea how she got that head through the bars. It is WAY too big! |
Then we had some ribs and play time with Lulu & Papa:
"Gween!" |
Playing the whistle :) LOVE those pigtails!

Doing her "make up" :)
I LOVE this video!
THEN it was time for our THIRD place to go for the day! (whew!): my co-worker, Jen's, 4 of the July party.
They had set up a little sprinkler thing for the little kids to play in which Clara & Riah were excited about.
While the big kids played, the little ones laid out and got some Vitamin D in the shade :)
Checking on her babies |
I love how much Clara loves on Emma! |
Lounging around and drying off |
While Mommy visited with all of her co-workers and Clara splashed, Emma took a snooze:
Then during a little rain shower we had a dinner of BBQ and sides:
This was one pooped out little girl by the time we got home. The firework noise didn't even phase her!
The pictures from donuts/church/playtime on Sunday aren't on my computer yet so they may have to turn up on another post, but for now, I hope you had an equally pleasant July 4th weekend!
