YMCA Ballet Class

On Tuesday Clara had her very first "big girl" ballet class, and instead of it being at Kidville we are actually giving the YMCA a try. We adore Kidville, we love their gym class and we like how much music they use, but I think this style of ballet class is going to work for Clara better. The teachers (Ms. Susie and Ms. Emily) are a little more strict, while still being fun.

Poor Emma desperately wanted to join in the class too!

Getting into the music
Practicing first, second & third positions:

Giraffes with tall necks and delicate feet (or something like that)
Giraffes bending down to drink from the river :)
Emma wanted to dance SO badly, so she ran out while they were practicing their giraffe skill. Without even pausing Clara just hugged Emma, said it was okay and that Emma could dance too, held her hand and pulled her around in the circle too. SO sweet!

Emma clucking her tongue at herself in the mirror
I think Clara's favorite part was when they practiced minuets with a partner. At first these two were a little silly, but eventually they got the hang of it!

Watching these girls stretch cracked me up.

Jumps:

Notice Emma escaped and tried to head in again
"Arms up ladies!"

Clara's first attempts at leaps:

It was a good class!! We missed today's because Molly time was more important, but she'll start up again next week!
