Bryan's 24th Birthday

Yesterday, April 30th, Bryan turned 24 years old. I planned a surprise party for him at my parent's lake house. My parents are WONDERFUL hosts!! Thank you SO much for everything y'all did for his party!!! We had many friends and family show up, and I think just about everyone had a good time ... I hope so anyway :)

Here's the birthday boy:

Before the party, I told Bryan that my parents wanted to take us out to lunch, so we packed up the puppy and headed to Lake Conroe. We needed to get Bryan away from the house while everyone was arriving, so we took the boat to Subway. It was actually me and Bryan's first time to take the boat out to eat, which was exciting! This was also Maverick's very first boat ride! We made sure he was good and safe with a life jacket - and were shocked when he didn't really care about wearing it, he just thought it was a new game or something. I don't think I've ever seen anything quite this cute ... but, of course, I am biased :)

As we brought the boat back from lunch, everyone came out to the backyard to surprise Bryan!

Most of us got to riding the jet-ski, visiting, and getting in the pool right away:

Besides my parents, Maverick, and Bryan & I, we also had several friends and family join us too!

First up is MeMaw & Paw. Y'all take a pretty good picture, you know :) I know there's a photo of all 4 of us out there somewhere, I'll have to find a copy!

Below you've got some of the boys - Bryan Balouchi (a long time friend of mine, and then in the same major at A&M with Bryan), Brandon (his wife and daughter are in the picture below- he was involved with Trinity Lutheran, attended A&M, and occasionally played poker with Bryan), and then my guy. They're headed out in the boat and going to give tubing a try!

Here we've got Stephanie on the left, and Kirsten with her baby daughter, Isla, on the right. Stephanie is a long time friend of Bryan (and now mine, of course :), and Kirsten was involved with Trinity Lutheran Church as well as attending A&M. Kirsten rode and drove a jet-ski for the first time! It was so good to see you ladies!

What would Bryan's birthday party be without his Dad?! Ronnie, Celina, Alexandra & Little Ronnie were wonderful and came out to party with us all afternoon!! I'm not sure Little Ronnie could have been enticed to get out of the pool for anything short of getting in the lake :) He had an awesome time swimming and splashing around. Alexandra spent a lot of time in the pool too, but the real highlight for her was proving her skill on the tube!! I know there are pictures out there, but I don't have them yet. Good work!

Bryan & I could not have asked for a better street to live on! Every Friday evening, and even other days of the week sometimes, most of our neighbors bring their kiddos and dogs out, and we all hang out in on someone's driveway or the middle of the street. The guys play basketball, the girls chat and chase the dogs around, and the kids do what they do best - run around like crazy. It is SO much fun! Peter (in the picture below) and his wife Kara, and their three kids: Kaitlyn, Erika & Jordan live in the house directly across the street. We have so enjoyed having them as our neighbors! Kara was out of town, so Peter brought the kiddos over. The kids loved swimming - next time we'll have to take them out on the jetski & hopefully Kara can come too!

Our high school and college friend Steven came & even brought his own jet-ski for people to use as well. Thanks so much! Steven was a roommate of Bryan's, as well as a fellow poker player.

Jacob & Haley were also Aggie friends - such a fun couple! Thanks for coming out! Next time we'll have you out when you have more free time so you can really enjoy the water.

Dean & Beth are the sweetest people. We kind of view them as another set of parents. We adore their children, and love having ALL of them around! Thank you two so much for joining us!! It means so much to us that you came! Next time you'll have to bring your swimsuits :)

To the others that couldn't come - thank you for the birthday wishes Bryan-ward. We want to see all of you soon!

After an afternoon in the pool and on the lake jet-skiing and tubing, we had hamburgers and then red velvet cupcakes (made by MeMaw) with ice cream. Yummm, yum.

Lastly, a few of us enjoyed some late night hot tub time with margaritas and Bryan opened his cards and gifts. It was a fun surprise birthday party. I love my dude, and we really enjoyed seeing so many friends and family. Thank you everyone for celebrating with us!!

Here's to many, many more years to come.
