Midland Bound!

This weekend Bryan and Papa went to Joshua Creek Ranch to shoot some pheasant and quail. Lulu invited Clara and I along to fly to Midland to visit Uncle Grady, Aunt Marissa & Baby Molly!

If you prefer short and sweet posts, check out Marissa's blog! I'm very wordy and I can't choose from the cute pictures we took :-/ They are just all so cute! Marissa did an awesome job summarizing our trip up to see them: http://arookiewifewiththeveterangod.blogspot.com/2014/01/a-visit-from-lulu-aunt-katy-clara.html

So I'll start with our flight there. Clara was FASCINATED by the airport. She wanted to look in, at, and on top of absolutely everything. She said "hi" to lots of people, attempted to get on escalators and elevators that we didn't need, and made sure to get noticed as much as possible :) She was really well behaved, just super curious. She thought the tram ("choo choo") from Terminal B to Terminal A was pretty incredible too. It meant we moved at a very pokey place, but I thought it was pretty perfect since at preschool last week they studied airplanes! Talk about real life application, right!?

Since Mommy was going to have a heat stroke and we were all a little hungry, Lulu treated us to some frozen yogurt while we waited for our plane. Yummmmm!

Then we tried on Lulu's glasses :)

How cute are they!?
Pointing at all of the airplanes

She learned the word "yellow" while we were waiting!!!

But ate some crayons too :(
Must break this habit!

so many cool things out there to see
See the product of eating crayons? Good thing they are washable!
Snacks are a must when traveling with tiny humans.
Ideal toddler trail mix: raisins, cocoa & honey cheerios, and cheese & pretzel goldfish. Does it get much better than that? Not for Clara!

Filing her nails just like she sees Lulu & Mommy do :)
Such focus
 The 3 travelers:

Playing with the ice from the apple juice. Mmmm.

After a flight delay and spending over an hour in the air PAST little one's bedtime, she was running on something but fumes, so we resorted to subjecting our flight to listening to "Wheels on the Bus" several times. We had great flight companions thank goodness!

Washing our hands over and over and over after the flight.

Pretending to talk on the phone while Mommy waited for the carseat and bags to come by.

Uncle G came to get us! Clara was really excited to see him :)

We got to check out Grady and Marissa's pretty house and have a late dinner before Clara crashed hard several hours after her bedtime.
She took out some of her inner angst on the banana.

We were so excited to be in Midland! Mom and I stayed up a little while to talk to G&M but we were all collectively pooped out and decided to go to bed.
