Anadarko Christmas Party

Every year Anadarko puts on a HUGE Christmas party with all the works. There was dinner, dessert, a comedian (Jake Johannsen), an intro band (Green River Ordinance), and the main attraction: Clint Black. There was also a Sports center (where big screen TVs were playing the football games), a Disco center, a Karaoke bar, photo booths and a "casino" set up. Not to mention there was free booze everywhere. Crazy!

The Christmas party was held at the Marriott in The Woodlands. Since my Dad also works for Anadarko, my parents were there too! They rented a hotel room for the night, and we met them (along with some of Dad's coworkers) in their room for a small pre-party with wine and cheese and crackers. It was really nice to see so many people that I don't get to see very often! Plus, Bryan got to meet them!

Next, we all went our own ways. First, Bryan and I found the dinner buffet and bar. The food was good, but the bar tender clearly had no idea how to make a Tom Collins ... ew. We met and visited with some other Anadarko employees over dinner which was fun. Then Bryan and I got quickly went upstairs to see the comedian (which is what I was looking forward to most!) The tables and chairs were already packed, so we found a little corner we could stand in and just laughed and laughed and laughed. The man was really funny, and not vulgar at all! I loved it! We also ran into Mr. and Mrs. Hennings while leaving the comedian and got to visit with them for a while. We love the Hennings family! :) We also ran into the Mitchels, the Fords, and several other families (some I recognized but couldn't remember their names ... such an uncomfortable feeling, haha).

Bryan and I then went to get our picture taken for the first time at the photo booth (yes there's a reason it was the first time...) and then went to check out the Sports Bar. Oklahoma was beating Nebraska, which made Bryan happy. I didn't want either of them to win, and neither did Bryan really, but since someone WILL win, he decided that since Nebraska chose to leave the Big VII that they at least should lose on their way out, and I really can't argue with that logic. There was some pretty intense drinking happening in the Sports area.

We chose to avoid the disco and karaoke areas, and instead checked out the desserts. Bryan had some pumpkin pie and I enjoyed a sundae of my own making ... yummm. That's when we realized Bryan lost our picture #1. Ooops! So we just made our way downstairs and got it done again, no problemo.

The party was a lot of fun and we'll definitely go back next year!
