Well, it feels like we are massively jumping the gun, but we found out that most furniture stores make you wait up to 90 days to get your furniture once you order it. That's 3 months! Lame. Especially when you consider we are waiting 5 months to have the house built. I'm not sure my store of patience could last 8 months :) Especially when I use so much of it up each day at school, haha. We decided we would go ahead and start shopping around to see if we could find a sofa/sectional that we liked for our soon-to-be-HUMONGOUS living room.
For those that haven't seen any pictures, or aren't sure what we're building exactly, here's the link to the Palermo floor plan that we're building.
To see what our floor plan will look like after making changes to the basic floor plan, on the right hand side, make sure the options for "extended covered patio," "bay window," "study," and "stairs to the bonus room" are selected. Once you do the stairs option, up top you'll see a link to the second floor appear. Technically it's a 1.5 story house, but they call it a second story on this website. Then select "bedroom 5/bathroom 3." And that, my friends, is our future house. Now note on the first floor how big the living room is. Plus it's kind of long and skinny. We've been trying to figure out how to arrange the future best, and we think we want a sectional + a swivel chair, so we took this nice Sunday afternoon as an opportunity to search around! We found two sectionals that we really liked and a chair we think would work perfectly.
This is Bryan's idea of shopping! Doesn't he look comfy?
Here's the better picture of this sectional. It comes in lots of colors, but we actually really enjoy the smoky gray color it's shown in. The chaise part would actually be on the other end.
And here's the second sectional we found after an entire afternoon of searching, that we LOVE! The chaise bit of the sectional would actually be on the other end too. It is SOOO comfortable! It's also really pretty.
I'm pretty much in love with the area floor rug that it's sitting on too:
Isn't that pretty? All those fun colors could really lend themselves to an awesome accent chair fabric too! Here's the style of chair we liked (but not the fabric):
It rocks and swivels! And even better .... it works for short people too! It's really not too deep, so even without an accent pillow, I can sit comfortably. We want a fun fabric, but not those colors. We thought about a recliner, but I'd rather do that upstairs in the game room than downstairs.
Which sectional do y'all like better? We're going to keep searching, but after looking at a LOT we figured it was a good thing that we at least found 2 we both like!
Happy sitting!
