THE park

Bear Branch Park, or THE Park as it is now known to our family, is WONDERFUL.

We (Lulu, the girls and I) joined the Bunnis family for a picnic dinner at the park. It's been such glorious weather lately that it seems a shame to waste it.

First we stopped by Skeeters, a nearby BBQ/Mexican type joint, to pick up the food and then re-convened at the park. Unfortunately the park isn't labeled very well so it took us a while to figure out the playground and picnic tables are BEHIND the skate park (there's also a pool, rec facility and dog park there + sporting fields), but once we did we got to "Eat! eat! eat!" as Clara likes to do :)

Naturally the kids didn't last super long at the table because can chicken tenders or quesadillas really hold a candle to slides, swings and see saws? Not if you're a toddler especially!

So after the kids ate enough to satisfy their mommies, they were allowed to run (somewhat) free and play to their sweet hearts' content.

The see saw caught their immediate attention. Clara's adorable legs can't quite touch the ground yet though, so Logan and I climbed on behind our kids so they could actually do it.

Clara thought for a moment she wanted off, but then she started climbing right back on.

So I got on the other side and gave my thighs a good work out making it go both ways :)

Then there were animals to be ridden.

But the REAL fun came when they discovered the slides, one in particular. It's a bunch of small rollers. I honestly wasn't sure what Clara would think when she tried it for the first time but I assure you, she loved it!

Unfortunately it's a bit easy to smash tiny fingers, so we kept telling them to "put your hands up!!' as they went down the slide, which seemed to help some.

"mo'?! mo'!?"

Pretty soon they thought it was fun to go down together!!

These two sweet kids crack me up.

A couple of videos of the fun:

There were some other fun things to do:

But they always went back to the other slide :)

It was hard to drag the kiddos away, so it was many thanks to Logan for both capturing them and then convincing them it would be fun to walk to the car holding hands to get them to go home, haha.

Saying good bye to our friends:

I think the adults had just as much fun as the kids, so I think it's safe to say we will be back again very soon!
