"Mommy's First" solids with Emma

Normally this would be a post all about Emma's first solid food experience ... but it's not because it takes a spoon to get this sweet baby to eat at school.

HOWEVER, Mommy has a very strong imagination and I can pretend :)

Hiiii Emma, we're going to try some solids, okay?

"Solids" consist of breastmilk, multigrain cereal and apple puree mixed together in this case. Emma is NOT necessarily "ready" for solids the way Clara was. Clara was all over them, Emma would rather just nurse. Since I work part time though, she's sort of being forced into eating some a little earlier than I'd like. BUT we're embracing it and doing our best to make it as as easy for her and as exciting for her as possible.

Emma ADORES Clara. She thinks she's hilarious and gives some of her best giggles and smiles to her sissy, so naturally Clara got to help give Emma a few bites :)

It resulted in a mess, but that's okay with me :)
Emma wasn't positive this was a great idea at first, but there were no tears present so I figured we were safe to continue.

Getting a little more enthusiastic :) But mostly just liking the fact that Mommy was smiling and cheering her on!

Then Daddy took a turn:

HUGE grins :)
That wasn't so bad, eh, Emma?

Love you little turtle!
